High Midnight at Knight’s Peak

1878: Seventeen year old Sascha Mosconi has few prospects for her future. The half-black daughter of a Chicago journalist and a New Orleans swamp witch, she expects to spend the rest of her life caring for her father and for the old wizard who taught her to use her scent-craft. When Sascha’s father is sent to write a story about a small mining town in the Colorado Territory, Sascha joins him as his secretary. She soon discovers Knight’s Peak is a haven for sorcerers and magical creatures, some friendly, others extremely dangerous. Kidnapped by the rider of a mysterious white horse, dragged across the countryside, Sascha quickly becomes entangled in a twisted plot against the town and her new friends. One she’s determined to thwart. Sascha doesn’t know if her small magics are enough to help, but for the sake of a place and a life to call her own, she’s going to try.
